#168 - #213

Pff. I was having a huge break, damn. I have to make more paper cranes, or else it will take me forever to make it to the 1000 cranes. But this was a good start after the break.

This is a gift for a friend of my sister. My sister wanted to give a 'jar of luck'. So she asked me if i wanted to make her the paper cranes for the jar. Besides that she made a Message in a bottle. Best gift of the night.

I made another person happy. :)

I went to Pink Monday in Tilburg with some friends of my. We were talking about everything. So also about my project and they both didn't know anything about it. So i explaned it and they both wanted one really bad. So now i made another 2 friends a little bit happier.

Happy birthday Ilara! It was an awesome night! At her party last friday (when we celebrated her birthday) i gave her a paper crane of course. For all the luck with finding a new apartment, and the start at her new school.

A couple of days ago, i was unpacking some tshirts at work. Just doing my job. I saw a chellenge in front of me. Every shirt had some cardboard in it, so i wanted to make a paper crane out of the cardboard. It was very hard and my fingers actually hurt. But i am proud of the result. I didn't think it would come out this nice. See it yourself.

Right after number 162 a friend of my said that she also wanted a paper crane so i made one for her out of a piece of paper with a cute pig on it. She was very happy when it was finished. So i was also happy that i could make her smile.

Yesterday i went with some friends to a festival called Parkpop. It was a nice day. While we were waiting to see the Astroid Galaxy Tour we got a folder for some salsa lessons. Out of that folder i folded a paper crane. When it was finished, a woman next to me saw it and found it really funny. I gave her the little paper crane and she kept it in her pocket. I dont know her name or where she's from, but what i do know is that she a real slayer-fan and a Lamb Of God-fan. And that she enjoyed the performance.

Currently i am busy with a present for a friend of my, but more about that later. I was folding some paper cranes for that present when a friend of my walked in at my work when i was busy. He wanted one to give to his boss. He was taking a break from his work. I said that i would really want a picture of the little paper crane with his boss. After a couple of hours i finally received the pictures. Another person happy.

Two days ago i went to an information day at a school i might want to go to. I met someone who studies there. And he knows that im doing this project. He had some origami paper and hid one for me somewhere in his school. I had to look for it. That little piece of paper hang there for almost 3 months. Nobody took it. Nice! When the day was finally there that i was going to that school, we met and went looking for that origami paper together. (actually, he knew where it was) After we found it i fold one for him. He was very happy that he is now part of the project.

The second picture is a picture of the back of the paper. He wrote there in Japanese 'Fold me'.

A friend of my went to Australia for three months. So i thought it was nice to give her a tiny paper crane she could put in her purse. She did and she said that she got the luck she needed from the crane. A couple of days ago she came back from Australia. I said to her that the luck of that mini paper crane was gone. So i gave her a new one so that one could give some new luck to the small one. The bigger one has a nice place in her bedroom. I made it myself, with some australian pattern.

The Journey

I haven't posted a lot the last couple of months. I was out. But i am back, maybe because the weather gave me back the energy to fold.
But one thing to remember, i won't give up! That's for sure!

I went to Helsinki, Finland 2 weeks ago. I needed a vacation, so i went a week to Helsinki with a friend of my. This was a good opportunity for me to fold some new paper cranes.

This is the first one i made in Finland. It was after a long walk through the big city and after we visited a beautiful church in the middle of the rocks. We sat at a cafe called RED and we were chilling and enjoying the good weather. only the staff wasn't that friendly, so i left one behind for them ;)

I made this one on the boat to Tallinn. Actually, it was the boat back to Helsinki. It took us 4,5 hours to get back, because there was something wrong with engines. We were sleeping and drawing and chilling somewhere on a silent spot on the boat. I made one for the next person who was bored as hell on that boat.

I sat in the train to Turku, to get a tattoo from a great tattoo-artist. It was a 2 hours-ride, so i had plenty of time to sleep and to read. Ik was an international train, so there were a lot of travelling people. I hope i gave someone some luck in their journey.

Of course i had to give a paper crane to the artist who gave me a very lovely tattoo. Thanks again for the good job you did.

My last paper crane of this vacation was for my good friend Jirina, who lived in Helsinki for the last 5 months. She was living there because she did an exchange with her school. We lived in the same house when i was living in Arnhem. After she left to Helsinki, i moved back to my parents. I really wanted to visit her there, so that was also a reason to go to Helsinki. The last day we fully spent with the three of us. We had a very very good last day there. I gave her a paper crane because she is going to fly back the end of May, and she is very afraid of flying. So this way, i gave her my luck for the journey back home. You can do it! <3

As you can see im not going to give my pictures some effects. It is taking me too long to do that. Hopefully, this way i will post more often.

The Journey

I haven't made a lot of paper cranes the last days. This way it will take me a couple of years or something. Anyway. I guess I made one in the couple of weeks. It was in the train on the way back from Eindhoven. It was very crowded in the train. The woman next to me was staring at me while folding the crane. I wanted to give her one, but she was looking very cranky. Maybe I had to give her one to make her a little more happy, but I didn't. Maybe the next person on my seat took it.

Let's hope it has a warm home in this very cold weather.

The Journey

At a birthday party of a good friend I found out that the next day it is exactly 1 month that i'm working on the project. I wanted to have a nice number of paper cranes on that day, so I began to fold and now, exactly 1 month after the start, I have 150 paper cranes! If i'm folding like this the rest of the project, i'm definitely going to make it to the 1000 in a year. But we will see.

Here is a picture of the party paper cranes with a gift she got from somebody.

The Journey

I had a surprise for my friend who gave me her mini origami paper. The least I could do is make her some paper cranes. So I made her 6 cranes, 5 of the paper she gave me and one made of my origami paper I bought the other day.

You should have seen the smile on her face! :D

The Journey

Blegh, it's the time of the year that everybody gets sick, even me. So I was just behind my laptop watching series. During that I began to fold so finished with 25 more paper cranes.

There was one very special one. I made by accident a Lady GaGa paper crane. With her face on a wing, and on the other wing some letters from her song 'Paparazzi'. Love this one.

The Journey

I hadn't spoke a friend of my for a very long time, so we decided to go to an exhibition made bij classmates. When we got there, we were too late for the presentation and decided to get a drink somewhere until the presentation was finished. So while we were chatting the paper crane project came up and she told me she can fold them too. Together we made some paper cranes. I had a great time!

Afterwards we went back to the exhibition and found out that it was already finished.

The Journey

So I used a news paper to make paper cranes. And i'm just still pretty surprised of the variation of the little papers. So here are three more.

I really love the ones with text on it.

The Journey

Just received two pictures.. Love them!

The Journey

Today I was folding with my new paper made of a newspaper. I really love the diversity of it. For some hard working friends I made some nice couples to cheer them up.

the Journey

A couple of days ago I was very bored so I was folding some paper cranes of course. But after a few I was done with the small ones so I made a very big one. Afterwards I glued the small ones on the back of the big one. Nice result.

The Journey

Yesterday I was at school using a newspaper to make new origami paper. I thought that it would be nice if I leave some paper cranes there for the next person who wants to cut something, so I left a small family of paper cranes behind on the machine next to it.

The Journey

Here is just a meaningless picture of some paper cranes. But I couldn't resist it because they are so cute when they are this small. I made them in the shop I work and some customers who bought something got one.

When I came home my mom was cooking dinner so we chatted during and I made some tiny paper cranes for her, because she reacted the same way I did the first time.

The Journey

Here are some examples of the colorful little origami papers my friend gave me. I am totally going to thank her for it!

The Journey

At work my boss was very angry about the printer, because it took too long to print just one piece of paper. I was there because I was taking a break. So we were talking while she was cursing to the printer.

I made her a nice little paper crane and directly gave her a smile.

The Journey

A few days ago I bought some origami-paper for the first time. It's very expensive, so probably also the last time. But it's very pretty paper! A good friend of my had also some origami-paper for me she found in the attic. The little pieces of paper are 4cm x 4cm, so there are going to come a lot of baby cranes!

These are for the baby paper cranes.

And this is the origami paper I bought.
